Deadlines

DATA SUBSIDY COMMISSIONS second semester: Feb 16, March 4, March 18, last week before Easter.

The deadline for applying for the full operating subsidy and engagement subsidy is December 1st. Also pay attention to the dates on which the subsidy committee meets.

All applications received between December 1st and May 1st, will be limited to half of the total amount. It is not possible to apply for an operating subsidy later than May 1st.

Each association recognised by LOKO submits an annual application via subsidies@loko.be or via the tool on the website (temporarily unavailable).

How does an operating subsidy work?

In order to apply for an operating subsidy, the association must be recognised by LOKO. The standard and supporting recognitions are valid for three years for free associations and unlimited for 'kringen'. However, the application for an operating subsidy must be submitted annually.

'Kringen' and associations do not have to submit a separate application for each operating cost, but one general application at the beginning of the academic year. The association receives a fixed amount of money for an entire academic year, irrespective of the costs it incurs, which is adapted to the size of the association and the commitment it chooses towards LOKO.

1. 'Kringen'

Every student union (‘kring’) gets a fixed sum of €300. On top of this, the ‘kring’ gets another €75 for every extra vote it has in the General Assembly of LOKO (i.e. €75 multiplied by the total number of votes minus one).

If ‘kringen’ do not fulfill their commitment to LOKO's operation (participating in the AVsn WVs and the organization of all kinds of LOKO activities), their operation subsidy may be refused.

2. Recognized free associations

There are two options:

Standard application

€100

/

Engagement application

€300

Minimum 12 hours of commitment at LOKO events, added up over events throughout the academic year

How can you apply?

Any association recognized by LOKO can submit an application via subsidies@loko.be or via the tool on the website (temporarily unavailable).

The association needs to prove before June 15th, at the end of the academic year, that it was operational this year. You therefore do not have to enclose the proof immediately when you submit the application. The evidence can be given by handing in the publicity and other evidence of at least two recognized activities. For half the operating subsidy, the supporting documents are limited to at least 1 recognized event.

This evidence can be, but is not limited to: a printed poster, a printed flyer, a public event on Facebook…

! ATTENTION: If the association has not submitted supporting documents of proof by the deadline, it will no longer be able to apply for an operating subsidy for the following academic year. Instead, it can still apply for project subsidies, which will be dealt with by the subsidy commission.

So be sure to mark the deadline of June 15th in your agenda!

How can I submit proofs?

By filling in the template below and forwarding it to subsidies@loko.be before the deadline of 15 June!
