Student Congress 2023
In November, LOKO is once again hosting its annual student congress! On November 14, 15 and 16, you can register completely free of charge for a wide range of challenging and meaningful training sessions, ranging from a cooking workshop to useful information about mental health.
Who? All students in Leuven are welcome! This conference is intended for any student in Leuven from KU Leuven, UCLL or LUCA School of Arts.
What? Three days of interesting trainings on different topics that can help you throughout your student life.
Where? The training sessions are offered at various locations in the center of Leuven.

Improvisation theater workshop - Preparee
14/11 11am-1pm
Have you always wanted to tryimprovisational theater but never got around to it? Then this is your chance! During the LOKO student congress, Preparee is organizing an improvisational theater initiation. This workshop will take place on November 14 from 11 am to 1 pm. In this 2-hour workshop you will start with the basics of improvisational theater after which you can get to work yourself in small groups under the guidance of the improvisational experts from Preparee!
Gatekeeperstraining - Stuvo
14/11 2pm-4pm
During this 2-hour gatekeeper training, organized by Stuvo during the LOKO student congress, you will learn as a student to notice mental problems in your fellow students and to deal with them correctly (without overstepping your own boundaries). If necessary, you will also learn how to refer them to the appropriate help and support. You will also learn, in addition to being a Gatekeeper for your environment, to take care of yourself and your own mental health. This will take place on November 14 from 2pm to 4pm.
Volunteering abroad - AIESEC

Volunteering abroad, it is something that appeals to many but often you do not know where to start... Luckily, AIESEC is here to help you! During the LOKO student congress on November 14 from 18h to 20h, AIESEC will guide you through everything you need to know about volunteering abroad and exchange!
Urban gardening - Vlaco
15/11 11am-1pm
Have you heard of urban gardening before? It is THE solution to gardening without a garden, perfect if you live in a dorm! During this workshop, Vlaco will start with a short explanation about what urban gardening is and what the advantages are, after which you can go outside and try it yourself!
This workshop will take place on November 15th from 11am to 1pm as part of the LOKO student congress.
Dealing with transgressive behavior - PLAN International
Smartphone Photography - Miette

Do you like photography? Do you take most of your photos with your smartphone but want to take your photos to the next level? Then this smartphone photography workshop is for you! On November 15, from 4 to 6 pm, Miette will guide you through the world of smartphone photography during the LOKO training conference.
Public speaking - Toastmasters
15/11 6pm-8pm
On the 15th of November, from 6pm to 8pm, the LOKO student congress, in partnership with toastmasters, will host a public speaking workshop. In this workshop, you will learn the tricks of the trade and be given tools to get started with public speaking yourself!

Moroccan cooking class - Medina

Moroccan cuisine is full of delicious (secret) recipes. On November 16, Medina will take you into the wonderful world of Moroccan cuisine. The workshop starts at 10:30 am with a fresh tea, followed by the preparation of delicious dishes, which of course must be tasted afterwards.
Workshop time-management - Stien

Managing your time, it may sound easy yet as a student you have undoubtedly experienced struggles with this. Fortunately, Stien is here to help you with this! During this time-management workshop Stien will share all her tips and tricks with you to make the best use of your time! This workshop will take place on November 16th from 4pm to 6pm as part of the LOKO student congress. All students in Leuven are welcome!
First aid course
A first aid course is always useful! You never know when you can save someone's life with your knowledge! On November 16, LOKO organizes a short training in first aid during the student congress from 18h to 20h. In this quick course you will learn the first aid basics!
