Kotlabel

A good kot has the Kotlabel!

Can you recognize at a glance whether you have chosen a quality kot? Certainly, for kot seekers like you, KU Leuven, the city of Leuven, and LOKO have established the Kotlabel.

From January 1, 2025, there will be a uniform kot label for all of Flanders, the Flemish kot label.

If you would like more information about this label and whether your kot has one, you can do so via this website. The KU Leuven Housing Service no longer issues blue and green Kotlabels, but these will still remain visible for a while.

What is the kotlabel?

A Kotlabel is a label with a blue or green K that hangs on the facade of a building. This means that the kot meets the standards for living quality, fire safety, contract quality, and student-friendliness. Blue or green label, then you know you're in good hands.

What is the difference between a blue and green label?

If a kot has the blue label, it means it meets the conditions of the KU Leuven Housing Service. A kot with the green label also meets the stricter criteria of the city of Leuven in addition to the criteria of the blue kot label. You can check what these criteria are on the site of the KU Leuven Housing Service.

All kots that you find on Kotwijs meet the criteria of a blue kot label!
