Re-startkit

Staying in Leuven temporarily? In need of a coffee machine, desk lamp, kettle or a vacuum cleaner? Why buy all this stuff if you can simply rent it during your stay

Re-startkit

The Re-Startkit project is managed by a collaboration between KU Leuven, Kringwinkel ViTeS, Maakbaar Leuven, LOKO and Vlaanderen Circulair, which aims to integrate students in Leuven in the city's circular economy of electronic household appliances by renting out Re-Startkits. These kits consist of small household electronics such as water boilers and vacuum cleaners, which are rented to students after being supplied as second-hand items by Kringwinkel ViTeS and refurbished by KU Leuven service-learning students in the Repair Hub of Maakbaar Leuven.

With the Re-Startkit, the project partners aim to introduce a socio-circular oriented lending system which provides students with essential household items at a low cost while actively involving them in reducing the growing E-waste  stream.
