Rental service
At LOKO Centraal, Leuven-based societies and associations can borrow all sorts of equipment. It’s even free for Leuven-based societies and recognised associations! You just need to pay a deposit.
- At LOKO Central ('s-Meiersstraat 5) recognized associations, student unions, and students can find the cargo bike, projectors, steward jackets, projection screens, cantus jugs... The previous offerings from the LOKO Sport rental service can now also be found at LOKO Central.

Cashloze uitleendienst
!PLEASE NOTE: The LOKO hire service is cash-free, so the deposit must be paid by bank transfer.
- Deposit the appropriate amount (max. 500 euros) in the name of DIDO VZW with account number BE25 7410 3469 9582 with the mention "488300 Deposit [Student union/Association] rental service LOKO [Reservation date]".
- The maximum amount is always €500, even if you borrow more than this amount.
- Bring a digital or printed proof of the transfer when picking up the materials.
Fixed deposit
From now on, we will be using a contract to renew the fixed deposit each year. At the start of each academic year, LOKO will send you a new contract. This means you no longer need to ask for it yourself.
The amounts are also changing. From now on, the standard deposit will be €300. The €100 deposit will therefore be discontinued. In principle, the fixed deposit of €500 will also be discontinued, unless your group/association regularly uses the CLD van via LOKO. If that is the case, your association can opt for a fixed van deposit of €500 instead of €300.
(Note: If you don’t want to pay the van deposit but would still like to borrow the van once or twice a year, simply pay an additional one-off deposit of €200 to LOKO at the time, which will be refunded to you afterwards)
Any deposit withheld due to damage or similar reasons will be invoiced at the end of the semester. This invoice must be paid in order to restore the fixed deposit to its original amount.
At the end of the second semester, when LOKO’s lending service closes, the student unions/free association will be given the choice of either topping up the deposit for the following academic year or requesting a refund of the deposit, in which case they will be refunded the original amount, minus any deposit deducted from the invoice.
Cargobikes - KU Leuven Green Office
LOKO is offering two cargo bikes from the KU Leuven Green Office free of charge through its loan service.
Have both cargo bikes already been loaned out? If so, you can still visit the website of KU Leuven Green Office to see if there are any cargo bikes available there!
Van
Are you still looking for a way to move items for your event? No van found but have a driver? Then we have a solution for you!
The Central Logistics Service (CLD) of KU Leuven provides a van through LOKO for Circles and recognized Free Associations. You only pay for the kilometers driven.
You can find more information about the van in the Van Hire Agreement (see the button below). You must also sign this and send it to loko@loko.be once your booking has been confirmed. To make a booking, please complete the booking form below and send it to loko@loko.be.
HOW?
A student union or free association can book the vehicle by contacting LOKO’s central office at loko@loko.be.
This must be requested at least one week in advance, and the request itself must not be for a date more than one month in the future. The central administration will check availability with the CLD at KU Leuven.
To book a vehicle with LOKO, the following details are required:
- Name, email address, telephone number and student number of the driver
- Student union or free association
- Reason of transport
- Exact collection and return times (date and time). Collection is available on weekdays between 8 am and 4.30 pm.
DEPOSIT & CONTRACT
If the vehicle is available, the branch or association should return the contract, duly completed and signed. You should also transfer the €500 deposit to DIDO VZW, account number BE22 0011 4801 9147, quoting ‘Deposit [Branch/Association] LOKO Van [Booking date]’.
- The driver can then collect the vehicle in Heverlee at the CLD, Willem de Croylaan 36, 3001 Leuven. You will need to present your student card to collect the vehicle keys.
WHERE?
The van may only be used within the Leuven area. Ideally, the van should be used to transport equipment that does not come from the KU Leuven lending service.
WHAT?
This is a van without a tailgate, for which you need a Category B driving licence. A number of models are available. If you require specific dimensions of the vehicle, please email loko@loko.be for further information.
FUEL
The vehicle will be delivered with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank. You are responsible for the cost of refuelling!
WHO?
The service vehicle may only be borrowed by student unions or free associations recognised by LOKO.
